WE ARE A LAW FIRM FOCUSED ON EDUCATION LAW
We are a boutique practice specializing in the representation of families seeking educational services from school districts or Washington state for students who have social, emotional or behavioral needs that are not being addressed in the educational setting and that consequently interfere with the student’s ability to learn. Given appropriate educational settings and services that address these conditions, students are able to acquire the academic and functional skills they need to succeed in lIfe. Many but not all of these students are in need of private schools or private services in order to acquire academic or functional skills.
WE ARE A LAW FIRM FOCUSED ON STUDENTS WITH SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL OR BEHAVIORAL NEEDS
Social, emotional or behavioral needs may stem from anxiety, depression, autism, mood disorders, insecure attachment, language deficits, unaddressed learning disabilities like dyslexia, or other disabling conditions. Students may be unable to produce work in school, unable to attend school at all, or unable to participate in school without exhibiting behaviors that interfere with their ability to learn and to function. These behaviors include not only acting out, externalizing behaviors but also internalizing behaviors such as withdrawal from school and community activities.
WE ARE A LAW FIRM FOCUSED ON OBTAINING EDUCATIONAL SERVICES THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE
We are dedicated to helping our clients secure educational services that will truly make a difference in the lives of their children. These services take many forms including private day schools; private residential treatment centers and therapeutic boarding schools; ABA services in public or private schools; total communication systems in public or private schools for students who are non-verbal or have significant language deficits; one to one aide support in public or private schools; and after-school services.
